Ten Reasons Why Parents do not attend Parent-Teacher Conference
1. I don't have the time. (make time)
2. It's always at dinner time. (cook the night before)
3. If something is that important, the teacher will call me. (be proactive)
4. I worked all day, I'm tired. (slow down the next day)
5. My child is fine, I don't need to hear the teacher tell me what I already know.
6. They have this every year, it's so boring. (this is when you learn)
7. I have to watch my favorite show or game. (it can wait DVR it)
8. I'm a single parent, this is one more extra thing, I'm not going. (invest the time)
9. My parents never came to my parent-teacher meetings, and I turned out fine. (really)
10. I have to go to work. (send someone else)
Come on parents we have to change our way of thinking, you are not raising children you are raising adults.

Parent- Teacher Conference
There was a question posed to me why you think parents seem less engaged with Parent Teacher relationship? By a well-known person who cares about people.
Many parents look at the school day as time away as oppose to time invested. Some Parents feels as though it's something extra to do, if it's serious the teacher will call me. Parent-Teacher Conference is a time to be on the same page. It is a time when you find out about your child in a different way. You know your child emotionally and physically however the teacher is observing their learning process. Teachers are trained professionals that observes your child and coach them so they can move forward. It is so important for Parents to attend the Parent-Teacher Conference for this give you a chance to talk to the teacher alone,you have that special one on one time. It is also good for you to know what your child does when you are not around.
Parent-Teacher Conference will give the Parent a chance to get a feel of the teacher, this is your time to do a quick observation of the teacher. When you show up, the teacher respect level for your child is high for they know this child have support.
